Conventional wisdom holds that elementary
school students typically lose interest in math and science topics when
they enter middle school. That interest may return later, but
frequently it does not. "It's just
NOT COOL...!"
But, as we know: That is SO not
true!
TISNT employs university students to re-engage middle and high school
students in science, math, engineering and technology.
This is accomplished by university educators, who volunteer to require
their students, as a mandatory part of their classroom work, to perform
“outreach” to middle and/or high schools students. It's that simple.
If you are a
junior college, college or university educator, please consider
signing up! (There is no cost for doing so.)
If you are a
middle school or high school educator, please contact higher
education professionals in your area, ask them to sign up, and get
ready for entertaining and effective "near-peer" connections to engage
and energize your students!
